When To Repot My Houseplants

"How do I know when to repot my houseplants?"

When your houseplant requires watering more often than once a week, it may be rootbound. (Remember some houseplants actually flower better when their pot is rootbound, Blood Lily for example.)

When the houseplant grows less or flowers less.

When the production of chemicals toxic to the houseplants develop, the houseplant will wilt or develop root rot. (sodium salt, calcium salt and others)

When the houseplant roots are dark brown and mushy, roots should be fresh white roots.

When the houseplant is 3 to 4 times taller or wider than the pot.

When you remove the houseplant from it's pot and the roots are circling the bottom of the pot
