Bless you, you have identified the mysterious infection in the nail beds on both thumbs and four fingers of both hands!!! It started at Val. Day when I pulled roses just rec'd fr. a new wholesaler to show a customer, the "leaves"

raked across my wrist and within one minute i had broken out as if with poison ivy. Believe me, I know poison ivy. I get it if a neighbor is mowing it a mile away. HA! The really funny thing about this is I've been doing flowers for over 25 years, no problem till now.

Every night I soak each fingertip in hydrogen peroxide, dry then rub a triple antibiotic sauve under the nail. I wrap fingertips overnight in black electrical tape, remove it in the morning and shower.

Before working any flowers I again wrap the finger tips with the black electrical tape. I found some at the dollar store that is 2" wide. I cut a 3/4" strip to go over the top of finger, knuckle to knuckle (back to front), then I run another strip around the fingertip. Because the knuckles are not covered there is no problem with dexterity (in fact I'm typing with both thumbs wrapped now) and the wrap last all day. The tape is wonderful! Water, oasis and floral debre cannot get inside. Hope this helps anyone with it under the nails. A quick hello and blessing to all you real florist out there.
