  1. Heirloom Tomato Plants... Back by Popular Demand!

Last year we brought to the public a new addition to our offerings, heirloom tomato plants. Our greenhouse grown heirloom tomato plants were a great success and our customers are asking that we once again are a source for heirloom vegetables plants in Syracuse and Dewitt, NY.

We have expanded our selection of garden plants to include other delightful heirlooms including squash, and beans. A list of what vegetables to be offered will be published soon.

  2. Mission Statement: "My" personal mission!

    by on 7th January 2010 at 09:10 AM (BOSS's Blog - a Florist's Rant)
With all the talk the last few days, it got me to thinking, and I thought I'd just jot down a few thoughts as to where I see myself going this next year and lay out for myself, and anyone else who cares where I see me-myself-and I heading in 2010 and beyond.

Some folks that know me, know I try to be helpful in anyway I possibly can, I want the best for everyone and anyone I cross paths with and if it takes me helping them to achieve that then that's my mission for that moment in time. ...

I am surprised at how sometimes we as business people, without thinking, make condescending remarks about our customers.

I have been guilty and I know many of you have too. Somewhere along the way, we have let a little comment here and a little comment there become a habit. You know the customer I am talking about. The one who calls at 4:45 and forgot ...

  5. Working for the bottom...

    by on 8th December 2009 at 07:58 AM (BOSS's Blog - a Florist's Rant)
    The bottom line that is...

Boy, when I said "Before things get better, they're going to get different" I had no idea how 'different' they would be. From the results of a modest national survey I saw recently, it would seem that most B&M florists are seeing anywhere from modest to severe declines in retail sales at the GROSS level. The numbers reflected anywhere from +5% to a drastic -50% across the country.

    Myself, fiscal 2008-09 which ended 9-1-09 showed a drop of a ...
